Sacred Heart Secondary School is a Government aided and in 2008, it become a USE school and UPOLET in 2012.
It was founded by the Comboni Missionary Sisters in 1934 as the first Girls Primary School in Northern Uganda (current Acholi Sub-region).
In 1945, it developed into a Junior Secondary School. In 1948, it evolved into a Teacher Training College that later on in 1954 moved to the current Christ the King Primary Teachers’ College ground
In its place in 1958, an O-Level Secondary School was established with the current name “Sacred Heart” and later in 1975, it was upgraded to A-level status.
